Standard Mandolins, Walnut with Spruce and Cherry with Redwood
swansonguitars008002.jpg
These mandolins are designed as an alternative to the often used archtop design seen most of the time. These have flat tops, and are not carved. They are meant to appeal to the Celtic and Folk musician, as Bluegrass musicians tend to want a more traditional mandolin and this is meant as a departure from the bluegrass designs.

They are very playable, and quite loud. I've used tops made of Redwood and Spruce and Cedar. Standard 13-7/8 scale is used with a carbon-fiber reinforced neck and bridge. These have a soundport in the side as well.
Have a look at the photos, I'll post more as soon as I build some more!
