I also build these standard size Mandolins. Designed with the celtic and folk musician in mind, these mandolins are offered as an alternative to the Gibson-style bluegrass mandolins. Instead I've designed them from the ground up to be different! They have 15' radiussed tops and backs and are not carved. The tops are X-braced and the necks are dovetailed in. These mandolins are inspired by vintage turn of the century designs, with modern innovations such as the use of carbon fiber and X bracing.
Octave Mandolins and Irish Bouzoukis....these instruments support different mandolin and bouzouki tunings, and I can make them in short, medium and long scales. Everyone wants something different in these evolving mandolins and I'll do my best to build the one you're looking for. On the left you see a redwood top, and on the right a spruce top.
